Abu Dhabi Wind Farm
Abu Dhabi’s Masdar Company has started a project Dh734.6 in
wind farm and
one of source renewable energy close to the Saudi
Arabian border. Because the project needs windy power and the area has low
windy, Masdar is designing a special turbine blades. Masdar wind farm has built
two renewable plants shams 1 and nour 1 join 100 megawatt to produce renewable
energy 7% to Abu Dhabi government. Masdar plant has taken place near Saudi border
to produce electricity. Wind farm of masdar get ready soon to generate power
early in two years. The nature of the wind is limited in the region and it’s
harder to develop in the GCC than solar power. According to masdar estimates,
Msader wind farm plant could cost $2 million per megawatt and$200 million as
total price. Abu Dhabi Government, banks and foreign partners are subsidizing
the project.
